Friends of Elsie Quirk Library to Hold Annual Book Sale in August

Friends of the Elsie Quirk Library is having its annual book sale starting on Aug. 1, offering great deals on a wide selection of gently used books at the library’s onsite bookstore.

The sale will run through Sept. 6. All books originally priced at over $2, will be offered at half the price.

The bookstore, located inside the Elsie Quirk Library at 100 W. Dearborn St., will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. throughout the sale.

Operated by the Friends of the Library, the bookstore helps raise funds to support library programs, events, and resources for the community. Proceeds from the annual sale benefit everything from children’s storytimes to adult enrichment workshops.

“This is a great opportunity to start your holiday shopping early or stock up on summer reading,” said a spokesperson for the Friends organization.

In addition to books, the sale typically includes DVDs, audiobooks, and other media, all donated by local residents and library patrons.

Shoppers looking for more information about the sale or how to donate books can contact the Elsie Quirk Library Bookstore at (941) 861-1216 or visit their website: friendsofelsiequirk.org/news-events.

Elsie Quirk Library is part of the Sarasota County Library System and offers year-round services including computer access, research assistance, free Wi-Fi and a range of educational programs for all ages.
