Do you love sea turtles? Want to get outside and help protect them? The Coastal Wildlife Club (CWC) needs Citizen Scientist Sea Turtle Patrollers.
Picture this: sunrise on the beach, the sand still cool, and you spot a fresh set of sea turtle tracks. You follow the trail, searching for clues, maybe even signs of tiny hatchlings. Every morning brings a new mystery, and you’re right in the middle of it.

If you live in the area and can commit from mid-April through October, CWC wants you on their turtle monitoring team. They patrol Manasota Key, Don Pedro, Knight Island, and Palm Island, and they’re looking for people who care about nature and want to make a real difference.
Here’s what you’ll do:
– Track and document sea turtle activity. You’ll use a special app to record what you find, helping to protect these incredible animals.
– Connect with others who share your passion. This is a tight-knit group, and you’ll make friends fast.
– Learn on the job every day. No experience? Doesn’t matter. CWC will train you, and you’ll also get the required FWC training.

Sign up on their website and one of their volunteer coordinators will add you to their list and send you info about upcoming volunteer meetings.
The US Endangered Species Act safeguards sea turtles, while FWC manages all their work through marine turtle permits 59, 85, 117, 132, 184, and 190.
Join the Coastal Wildlife Club. Help protect sea turtles, one set of tracks at a time.
