Lemon Bay High School Theatre Students Earn Top Honors at National Thespian Competition

Two Lemon Bay High School Theatre students earned superior ratings at the International Thespian Society’s national competition, also known as the Thespys, held last week.

The Thespys represent the highest level of achievement in the International Thespian Society. To qualify, students must earn superior ratings at both the district and state levels.

Recent graduate Tristen Sasser received a superior rating of 59 out of 60 in the Solo Musical category for his performance of “Confrontation” from Jekyll and Hyde. Sasser’s participation qualifies as part of the 2024-25 season.

Junior October Gatmaitan earned a perfect score in Costume Design for her work on Descendants: The Musical, earning her a Thespy Award — the top national honor in her category.

More information on Gatmaitan’s award will be shared as it becomes available.

Lemon Bay High School Theatre congratulates both students on their outstanding achievements. The program continues to thrive and make its mark at the national level.
