A small plane went down near a runway in Upper Captiva early Saturday morning, with four people, reportedly a family, on board. They all walked away unharmed, despite the plane losing a wing as it crashed into the surrounding bushes.
John Lai, president of the Sanibel-Captiva Chamber of Commerce, confirmed the incident. Firefighters on the scene said that everyone involved was okay. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office has started an investigation.
