Charlotte County Secures $1.75 Million for Manufacturing Training Center
Governor Ron DeSantis has approved a $1.75 million appropriation in the 2025–2026 state budget to establish the Southwest Florida Advanced Manufacturing Training Center in Charlotte County. The center will be located at the Enterprise Charlotte Airport Park in Punta Gorda and will serve as a regional hub for aerospace and advanced manufacturing training. The program will provide hands-on instruction and industry-recognized credentials to students and adult learners, addressing workforce needs in high-demand sectors. “This funding is a critical step in building a strong talent pipeline in Southwest Florida,” said Superintendent Mark Vianello of Charlotte County Public Schools. Sponsored by Representative Vanessa Oliver and Senate President Ben Albritton, the project reflects a collaboration between local schools, leaders, and state officials. School Board Member Kim Amontree added, “This support shows how education and workforce goals can align to grow the local economy and expand student opportunities.” For more information, visit FLhouse.gov.
