Lemon Bay HS April 2024 Athletes of the Month and Sportsmanship Awards

On behalf of the Lemon Bay High School Athletic Department, congratulations to the April 2024 winners of Athlete of the Month Award: Taylor Jones, a junior on the Girls Softball team, and Landon Spanninger, a senior on the Boys Weightlifting team. 

Taylor Jones

 

Taylor Jones hit an impressive .516 during the month of April. She had 16 hits, including four doubles and two triples. She recorded nine RBIs and scored 14 runs. 

Landon Spanninger

 

Landon Spanninger won his third consecutive State Championship and broke his own state record with a 265lb snatch.

Receiving Honorable Mention for April Athlete of the Month: Baseball: Mayson Roberts, senior, Girls Softball: Mackenzie Vaughan, senior and Cassidy Silvia, freshman. Girls Tennis: Parker Zautcke, junior; Rosey Lowder, senior; Avery Shirley, junior, Sihara Padrino, freshman, and Kenzie DeLong, senior. Boys Tennis: Steven Ethier, junior, and Hunter Andres, senior.  Girls Track: Myah Dickerson, sophomore. Boys Track: Kyle Domke, junior. Boys Weightlifting: Owen Tannehill, senior. 

Alaina Maday

 

Winning the April Sportsmanship Award is Alaina Maday, a junior on the Girls Tennis team. 

Alaina is the first alternate, #6 player, and has been there and supportive all season in her backup role. She is ready to slide in for any match, regular or post-season, where she might be needed. She had an 8-0 record in singles and doubles during the regular season in matches where she was called up to play Varsity. Alaina is always positive and prepared, as well as a great teammate. Receiving Sportsmanship Honorable Mention: Baseball: Travis Maddox, junior. Girls Tennis: Avery Shirley, junior. Boys Weightlifting: Owen Tannehill, senior.
