Friday Night Concert
The Friday Night Concert, at Centennial Park in Venice, features Ken Wanovich on Friday, June 14th. The scheduled performer for the Friday, June 28th concert will be Nick Fiasco. Venice Craft Festival
Enjoy a stroll along the 200 block of Miami Avenue West in Venice to view the crafts and handiworks of various crafters from across the nation during the 31st annual Downtown Venice Craft Festival on Saturday and Sunday, June 15 & 16, 10am to 4pm. EAC: Recycle, Repurpose, Reuse
Englewood Art Center (EAC) invites you to view a new exhibit in the Loranger Gallery that opens with a reception on Saturday, June 15, 2 to 4pm. “Recycle, Repurpose, Reuse” will be on display until Saturday, July 13th. Area artists have submitted artwork from recycled, repurposed or reused materials. Come see how they have turned reused materials into one-of-a-kind creations. Englewood Art Center is located at 350 S. McCall Road and is open Tuesday and Thursday, 9am to 9pm, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, 9am to 4pm.

Electric Blues Extravaganza
Fishermen’s Village, in partnership with Muzzik4All, presents “Electric Blues Extravaganza” on Saturday, June 15, noon to 9pm, on the Dry Beach stage and Center Court. Dry Beach music line-up: Noon to 2:30pm: The Cedrick Talton Experience. 3 to 5:30pm: The Dukes Project. 6 to 9pm: Dottie Kelly & the Rock the House Band. Van Wezel Friday Fest
The June Friday Fest outdoor summertime concert at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall, 777 N. Tamiami Trail in Sarasota, will be Friday, June 21, 5 to 9pm. “Kettle of Fish”, a local band known for their dynamic mix of blues, soul, funk and rock ‘n roll, is scheduled to perform. “We Were the Universe”
Hermitage Fellow Kimberly King Parsons will read selections from her debut novel, “We Were the Universe”, on Friday, June 28, 6pm, at Bookstore1, 117 S. Pineapple Avenue, Sarasota. Set in Texas and told through the stream-of-consciousness narration from Kit about her trips to Oregon, acid trips, life, death and rock ‘n roll, the reader will discover entirely new frames of mind. Bluegrass Bash Features “Rekindled”
The Heartland/Southwest Florida Bluegrass Association will be holding another Bluegrass Bash on Saturday, June 22nd at Craig’s RV Park, 7895 NE Cubitis Avenue, Arcadia. The featured band this month will be “Rekindled”. The show kicks off with an Open Mic/Jam Band at 1pm. “Rekindled” will be on stage at 2pm and back at 3pm. Association members enjoy the show for free; $10 donation from non-members. Many attendees come on Friday and camp for the weekend. Jamming and parking lot picking break out regularly. Conservation Foundation’s Art Show
Conservation Foundation of the Gulf Coast invites the community to view their Community Art Show on display now through Saturday, August 31st, at their headquarters located at Bay Preserve, 400 Palmetto Avenue, Osprey. With a focus on paintings and drawings, this juried art exhibit showcases Florida-centric natural lands through the eyes of the community at large. Viewing hours are Monday-Friday, 9am to 4pm. Lemon Bay Playhouse 2024/25 Season
Season tickets and flex passes are now on sale for Lemon Bay Playhouse’s 2024/25 season. Save money by purchasing a season subscription for $154 (seven plays) or a Flex Pass (four shows of your choosing) for $96. Venice Theatre Tickets on Sale
Get your tickets now for Venice Theatre’s 75th anniversary season. Single tickets are now on sale for all shows, along with two subscription packages, The Raymond 5 and Venice Pride 5, for $165 each package. Each includes five featured shows in the Raymond Center: “My Way: A Musical Tribute to Frank Sinatra”; “The Torch Bearers”; “9 to 5–The Musical”; “Lerner and Loewe’s My Fair Lady”; and “Alice in Wonderland”. Venice Symphony Season Tickets
The Venice Symphony is currently offering season subscriptions for their 2024/25 season. New this year will be an earlier starting date with a concert set for October 11 & 12, “A Symphonic Spooktacular”. You will find more non-traditional concerts such as “The Rat Pack is Back”, featuring The Symphony Jazz Orchestra and Michael Andrew, former headliner and bandleader of the legendary Rainbow Room in NYC. Season subscription prices range from $38 to $70 per show with a 10% discount for eight concerts and 5% off four to seven concerts. Single tickets will go on sale Monday, August 5th. Charlotte Players: 64th Season
Subscription packages are now on sale for Charlotte Players’ 2024/25 season, celebrating 64 years of community theater, comedy and musical tributes. Visit charlotteplayers.org to view the list of Langdon Stage shows and special events, as well as musical tributes at Charlotte Harbor Event Center and Charlotte Performing Arts Center. The season begins with “Always a Bridesmaid” on Thursday, September 12th. Subscription packages are $202 for all eight Langdon shows and $105-$110 for any four Langdon shows.
