Happy 4th of July Party
The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 113 will present a Happy 4th of July Party on Thursday, July 4, noon to 4pm. “Bandana” will provide music from 1 to 4pm. Enjoy a chicken dinner for lunch. Basket raffle & 50/50. $20 per person includes lunch. Proceeds benefit local veteran charities. The public is welcome to attend this party at the Post, 3436 Indiana Road. Sock Hop
Come to the Sock Hop! The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 113 invites you to their Sock Hop on Saturday, July 20, 5 to 9pm, at the Post, 3436 Indiana Road. The cost is only $15 per person and a ¼ chicken dinner is included. Music will be provided by “Seasons of Sound” with Eric Stefanik. Dress in sock hop attire. 50/50 raffle. Donations of new school supplies will be accepted, to be used for education. Call 941•697•3616 for more information.

Tarpon & Summertime Fishing
The Englewood Fishing Club will meet at 6:30pm on Thursday, June 13 at the Rotonda Community Center (646 Rotonda Circle, Rotonda West). The June speaker is Capt. Will Waterhouse of PomBoca Outfitters Fishing Charters. The June topic is “Tarpon and Summertime Fishing”. Visitors are welcome. Attendees are asked to bring a nonperishable food item that will be shared with local food pantries. On May 14th, the Englewood Moose #1933 presented All Pro Dads Association Englewood Elementary School with a $1,200 check. Accepting the check were Robert Domke and his daughter Lyla. All Pro Dads Association is for all parents of Englewood Elementary School students and meets monthly in the school cafeteria to do activities with their children. The Englewood Moose #1933 presented Junior Lady Mantas Basketball with a $2,000 check on May 7th. Accepting the check was Coach Sean Strickland. The Junior Lady Mantas are for girls, grades 4 to 8, and the donation is to be used for uniforms, tournament fees, registrations and insurance. Also on that date, the Moose members Lex and Beth Knight and Newt Webb handed out Walmart gift cards to needy veterans and the homeless at Indian Mound Park.
