Families looking for fun, active and engaging options during school closures will have even more choices in the new year! The City of North Port Parks & Recreation Department is launching a brand-new Spring Break Camp and bringing back the popular Kids Day Out program with additional dates for 2026.
The new Spring Break Camp will take place March 16 to 20 at the George Mullen Activity Center. Designed for children and teens in kindergarten through eighth grade, the program runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day, with optional early care and after care. Participants will enjoy a week filled with hands-on activities, creative projects, outdoor exploration and opportunities to build friendships and confidence in a supervised setting.
Kids Day Out also returns in 2026 with more dates to serve families on single-day school closures. Open to students in grades K-5, Kids Day Out keeps children active and engaged through arts and crafts, experiments, outdoor adventures and a wide range of games that promote teamwork and creativity. The program runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the George Mullen Activity Center.
Kids Day Out dates for 2026 are:
- Monday, Jan. 5
- Monday, March 23
- Friday, April 3
Each day costs $20 per student. Morning and afternoon extended care is available from 7 to 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 to 6 p.m., respectively, for $5 each or $10 for both. During extended care times, children can take part in quiet, self-directed activities.
Registration for both programs is open, and parents may register in person at the George Mullen Activity Center at 1602 Kramer Way or the Morgan Family Community Center at 6207 W. Price Blvd. during regular hours.
