Rescheduled Freedom Festival Set for Aug. 30 at CoolToday Park in North Port

North Port’s Freedom Festival is now scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 30, 2025, giving the community a second chance to enjoy one of the city’s most popular annual events.

The festival was originally scheduled for Friday, July 4, but due to safety concerns stemming from adverse weather conditions, including high lightning risks and saturated grounds, it was postponed.

Hosted by North Port Parks & Recreation and sponsored by American Irrigation, the festival will take place at CoolToday Park, 18800 W. Villages Parkway, from 6 to 9:30 p.m., with free admission and parking.

The evening will feature live music by American Made, a high-energy band known for interactive performances, along with food trucks, carnival-style games, bounce houses, a low-sensory play area, and dozens of vendor booths lining Firecracker Lane. A spectacular fireworks show is scheduled to begin at 9:00 p.m., weather permitting.

Opening ceremonies will include a National Anthem performance and an aerial flyover by the Gulf Coast Raptors, kicking off a night of patriotic celebration. The event’s signature Patriotic Play Zone and community booths are designed to provide a welcoming and festive atmosphere for all ages, including inclusive amenities for individuals with sensory sensitivities.

“We’re thrilled to offer residents a new date to come together and celebrate safely,” said Recreation Manager Shelby Mendelson. “It’s going to be the same fun, the same fireworks, and the same great energy—just a few weeks later.”
