Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office Hosts Sixth Annual Halloween Drive‑Thru Celebration

On Saturday, October 25, the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office welcomed families for its Sixth Annual Halloween Drive-Thru event, held at their headquarters located at 6010 Cattleridge Boulevard in Sarasota.

From 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., attendees stayed in their vehicles as they were guided through a route before reaching the event entrance.

Event organisers said the drive-thru served as a safe and fun way for families to celebrate Halloween while engaging with the agency’s K-9 units, mounted patrol officers and decorated vehicles. Nearly 100,000 pieces of candy were distributed during the event, making it one of the area’s larger trick-or-treat operations!

Sheriff Kurt A. Hoffman said the department received great feedback after last year’s edition, which prompted them to open the event again this year. “It’s an easy, safe, quick and fun experience for families that allows our specialty units and agency members to interact with the community,” he said in a release.

For those who missed the SCSO Drive-Thru event, Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office will host its annual Cops and Goblins event on Friday, October 31, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Port Charlotte Town Center Mall. Families can enjoy festivities including a donut-eating contest, food trucks, inflatables, Pie-A-Deputy, and of course, trick-or-treating. It’s a great way to enjoy Halloween and interact with the community in a fun, controlled environment.
