Sarasota Memorial Hospital Welcomes Centennial Celebration with Its Newest Babies

Sarasota, FL, November 2, 2025 – Sarasota Memorial Hospital marked its 100th birthday in a heartwarming way by celebrating with the tiniest members of the community. Babies born today at both the SMH-Sarasota and SMH-Venice campuses received commemorative 100th anniversary onesies as part of the milestone celebration.

Sarasota Memorial operates the only two hospitals in Sarasota County that deliver babies, making these newborns symbolic of a century of care for generations of families who began their stories at SMH.

Among the first to join in the hospital’s centennial celebration were newborns Harper, Blake and Sylfiette, each dressed in their special onesie to mark the occasion.

SMH shared the joyful celebration with the community on its official Facebook page, reflecting on 100 years of delivering care — and new life — across Sarasota County.
