The Sarasota Music Festival, a nationally acclaimed celebration of classical music excellence, runs now through Saturday, June 22, featuring a stellar lineup of chamber music concerts, master classes, and orchestral performances. Now in its 59th year, the festival brings together 60 of the world’s most promising young musicians and more than 40 esteemed guest artists for three weeks of immersive music-making.
Presented by Sarasota Orchestra, the festival is widely recognized as a launching pad for emerging classical talent. Each season, nearly 500 fellows from leading conservatories and music schools audition for a coveted spot in the program. The chosen 60 work side-by-side with master musicians in an intensive environment that combines rigorous training with inspiring performances.
Audiences will enjoy a diverse lineup of events, including Artist Showcase concerts on Thursdays, Festival Friday chamber music performances, and Saturday night orchestral concerts led by festival faculty. Each program highlights the rich tradition of chamber music while offering audiences rare glimpses into the artistic process through faculty-coached rehearsals and open master classes.
This year’s featured artists include the internationally acclaimed Miro String Quartet (pictured), who will perform during the Thursday, June 12 Artist Showcase concert. Other guest performers represent a cross-section of prestigious orchestras and music institutions across the country.
“This festival is not only a musical highlight of the summer—it’s a testament to the enduring power of mentorship, performance, and artistic growth,” said Joseph McKenna, President and CEO of Sarasota Orchestra. “It offers a truly unique opportunity for our community to experience classical music at the highest level.”
Festival Passes are available for patrons seeking deeper engagement, including behind-the-scenes access to rehearsals and educational sessions. Individual tickets and program information are available at SarasotaOrchestra.org.
Events take place at various venues throughout Sarasota, with most concerts and master classes held at Holley Hall and the Sarasota Opera House. The Sarasota Music Festival is made possible in part through the generous support of community donors and arts foundations.
