Big Waters Land Trust proudly announces the jury selections and winners of its second annual Community Art Show, a vibrant celebration of Florida’s natural beauty through the eyes of local artists. Following the success of last year’s debut exhibition, this year’s juried show features 20 original works selected for their creativity, craftsmanship, and environmental inspiration. Artists of all ages and skill levels submitted artwork reflecting the wonder of Florida’s landscapes. Jurors Danica Konatar, Lauren Marshall, and Tim Jaeger evaluated entries based on expression of nature, color and texture, attention to detail, and overall composition. Artist identities remained anonymous during the selection process. 2025 Award Recipients: Best in Show: Downriver Pickers by Mark “Marco” Bell; Merit Award: Dune Walk II by Monica Spain; Merit Award: O’Leary’s Shallows by Mark “Marco” Bell; and Merit Award: Play of Light and Shadow by Nancy Hielscher. The exhibit is open to the public at Big Waters Land Trust headquarters, 400 Palmetto Avenue, Osprey, from now through August 31, Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm.
