Englewood, FL. SKY Academy Englewood is proud to announce the tremendous success of its first-ever SKY Nights: 90’s Mixtape BBQ Fundraiser, held Saturday, September 27, raising over $30,000 in support of student enrichment, academic programming, and life-changing educational experiences.
Community members filled the night with energy, nostalgia, and generosity as guests enjoyed BBQ from Blacken Blues BBQ, live 90s hits from Noah’s Arcade, and a packed dance floor full of flannel, denim, neon, and full-send throwback fashion.
Most importantly, the funds raised will have a direct and lasting impact on students at SKY Academy Englewood.
Principal John Bailey shared:
“SKY Nights was a huge success for our first attempt at a community event and fundraiser. The money raised will create opportunities for students’ educational development in the classroom and for exploring the world around them through interactive trips. This will enable us to provide scholarships for students to attend our 8th-grade field trip to Washington, DC, and our hands-on marine biology trip for 7th-graders to Key Largo. The community’s generosity is providing students with experiences they might not otherwise be able to afford. SKY Academy is blessed to be part of a community that cares deeply about students’ education and development.”
