SARASOTA COUNTY – Sarasota County will host a free community cleanup in the South Venice area from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, October 18.
Residents are encouraged to gather unwanted household items, yard waste, tree trimmings and other garbage for disposal. Dumpsters will be available at the South County Courthouse, 4004 South Tamiami Trail, Venice.
Appliances and car tires will be accepted, with a limit of four tires per household, each measuring 25 inches by 16 inches or smaller.
Hazardous waste items such as paint, oil, gas, electronics, appliances and computers will not be accepted. These materials can be taken to the Sarasota County Chemical Collection Center, 8750 Bee Ridge Road, Sarasota, which is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
