When you think about pets, let’s be honest, dogs and cats always steal the spotlight. Maybe someone throws in a hamster or a gerbil, but goats? Hardly anyone puts them on their list, which is a shame. Goats are a riot. They’re clever; they get into all sorts of trouble, and they absolutely need company. No goat wants to be alone.
If you swing by Brian Faro’s place in Englewood, you’ll find a whole bunch of goats. Brian and his family run a proper herd, and we sat down with him to hear all about life with these feisty creatures.
Quick side note: most people call a bunch of goats a “herd,” but you’ll also hear “trip” or even “tribe.” “Trip” fits. Have you ever seen goats bouncing around? And “tribe” works too, because they stick together like family.
