Description:

The Barrier Island Parks Society is proud to host an educational program on invasive species, shedding light on a critical issue affecting Gasparilla Island’s delicate ecosystem. This program will explore the impact of non-native plants and animals on the island’s natural habitats, highlighting how they disrupt local biodiversity and threaten native species. Attendees will learn to identify common invasive species, understand their ecological consequences, and discover practical ways to help manage and prevent their spread. By fostering awareness and encouraging community action, this program aims to protect and preserve the island’s unique environment for generations to come.
