Punta Gorda Airport (PGD) is making it easier for travelers to get through security by hosting a TSA PreCheck® enrollment event. They’re teaming up with IDEMIA, the official TSA PreCheck enrollment provider since 2013. The event takes place at baggage claim inside the Bailey Terminal, 28000 Airport Rd, Punta Gorda, FL 33982, from November 17-20. U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, and lawful permanent residents are all eligible to apply.
The sign-up process is fast, especially if you fill out the application online before you arrive. At your in-person appointment, bring proof of your identity and citizenship. They’ll collect your fingerprints, take a photo, and charge a $79.75 application fee. Once approved, you get five years of TSA PreCheck membership.
Most people receive their Known Traveler Number (KTN) within three to five days after their appointment. You’ll need to add this number to your flight bookings to use TSA PreCheck benefits.
TSA PreCheck, launched in October 2011, streamlines the security process for low-risk travelers. Members use dedicated screening lanes at over 200 U.S. airports and 99% of users spend less than 10 minutes in line. You don’t have to remove shoes, belts, or light jackets, and laptops and liquids stay in your bag.
“We’re excited to bring this pop-up service to our community, so residents can skip the trip to Fort Myers or Sarasota for enrollment,” said Chief Marketing Officer Kaley Miller.
If you can’t make the event at PGD but still want to enroll, fill out the application online and pick one of IDEMIA’s 500+ enrollment centers around the country. Get started at https://tsaenrollmentbyidemia.tsa.dhs.gov/. For more details about TSA PreCheck, visit tsa.gov/precheck.
