Virginia B. Andes Volunteer Community Clinic invites the community to its first-ever GO PINK! Fundraising Luncheon on Monday, October 5, 2026 at The Waverly. This is an opportunity to focus on women’s health, prevention, early detection, and making care accessible.
This isn’t just another luncheon. GO PINK! brings together local leaders, healthcare experts, survivors, and supporters for honest conversations about the health issues women face here in Charlotte County. You’ll get to enjoy a good meal and hear from VBA’s panel of medical professionals. Their talks will cover everything from breast health and cancer awareness to heart health and the real impact of catching problems early.
But GO PINK! means more than just putting on something pink for the day.
Every dollar raised goes straight to offering cancer prevention and early detection for eligible patients at VBA, services that too many go without because they’re uninsured or underserved. That includes women and men who may put off or skip vital screenings because they simply can’t afford care.
VBA’s mission is simple: provide free medical, pharmacy, and wellness services to uninsured and underserved adults in Charlotte County who qualify.
The need for this work is urgent. Just look at June and July 2026. Thanks to their practitioners, including gynecological APRN Kaye Bennett, and their community partners:
- They completed 28 Pap smears.
- Their patients received 35 mammograms.
- They performed 8 low-dose chest CT scans for lung cancer screening.
- 14 new cancer diagnoses are now being treated at Moffitt Cancer Center.
These numbers tell genuine stories. Each screening means a local woman or man got answers, and, in some cases, started treatment that saved their life. GO PINK! helps to continue offering these essential services, including no-cost screenings, early detection, and ongoing support for adults who would otherwise go without.
