HCA Florida Wellen Park, North Port Police Host Medication Take-Back Day

HCA Florida Wellen Park Emergency and the North port Police Department are teaming up to help Englewood residents safely dispose of unneeded medications. Building on a promising 27% decline in U.S. drug overdose deaths in 2024, this community initiative aims to further “Crush The Crisis” by removing unused prescription drugs from homes. The effort, promoted by HCA Florida Englewood Hospital, encourages participation in creating safer, healthier environments. Residents can anonymously drop off unwanted medications on Saturday, October 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at HCA FL Wellen Park ER, 7070 S. Tamiami Trail.

This important event offers a crucial opportunity for Englewood and North Port area families to prevent drug misuse and contribute to public safety. For more information, please visit the HCA Florida Englewood Hospital Facebook page.
