Something new is unfolding at Dogs Inc. Graduates of their guide dog program are stepping out with more than just four-legged companions. They’re wearing AI-powered glasses now, and that changes the game for people with vision loss.
Those who are vision impaired know what it’s like to navigate the world with limited sight. So often the world is a blur, making out shapes, colors, objects, but no sharp edges or small details. Guide dogs trained through Dogs Inc can make an enormous difference in allowing the vision impaired to live independent lives.
Dog Inc is now offering a new tool for independence: AI glasses. The glasses actually speak and describe the surroundings, for example, a street sign, a car, or a streetlight. It’s a new sense of connection with the world, or at least, more detail than has ever been available.

At the moment, only 15 graduates have these glasses. Dogs Inc started handing them out after getting a donation, and training began back in February. The goal is to eventually reach all 400-plus program graduates.
It’s not just about seeing; it’s about independence. Besides the life-changing support of the guide dogs, these AI glasses open the door to a new life.
Dogs Inc is bringing smart glasses training to their booth at next month’s Florida Council of the Blind Convention. The hope is to get more graduates using the technology, and for the vision impaired, that means more options, more freedom, and a richer day-to-day life.
