Picture a room awash in pink, sunlight catching on every dress and tablecloth. Women gather, shoulder to shoulder, bound by purpose and camaraderie; here for each other, here for Dollars for Mammograms.
The Pink Luncheon, held on October 7th at the Wyvern Hotel, wasn’t just a meal; it was an afternoon of hope. Guest speakers took the stage, survivors shared their stories, and the energy was all about lifting each other up. You’ll find genuine connections and, more importantly, a way to say, “We’re with you,” and every cent supports Dollars for Mammograms.

A Mission Close to Home
For founder Rita Bertler, this isn’t just a cause; it’s her story, too.
Dollars for Mammograms steps in where insurance lets people down, offering free breast cancer detection to uninsured and underinsured residents across Charlotte County and South Sarasota County, Nokomis included.

The group covers screening and diagnostic mammograms, breast ultrasounds, biopsies, and MRIs when there’s a need for more answers. If further tests come up, they can help cover that, too. And, recently, they’ve begun offering financial help for post-diagnosis care, making sure help keeps coming, even when the world gets heavy.
