Lemon Bay Playhouse kicked off its 2026-2027 season with excitement, and things just keep building. This year promises standout shows, thanks in part to new collaborations with Chophouse285 and the Englewood Center for the Arts. If you’re looking for a season packed with energy and creativity, don’t sit this one out.
This fall, Lemon Bay Playhouse brings John Van Druten’s ever-popular “Bell, Book and Candle” to life, a romantic comedy laced with magic, laughter, and unpredictable twists. The show runs from October 14 to November 1, 2026.
Susana Falcon directs, with Heidi Schubert handling stage management. Together, they introduce us to Gillian Holroyd, a clever New York City witch used to getting her way. Everything changes when Gillian meets Shep Henderson, a mortal who unravels her perfect life. As Gillian stumbles into love, she faces an unexpected sacrifice, and the audience gets swept up in a story that blends comedy, romance, and a touch of the supernatural.
This production brings together a lively cast: Aleah Colon-Alfonso stars as Gillian, with Randy Huft as Redlitch, Joseph Giglia as Shep, Megan Hendrick as Nicky (Nicole), and Linda Ramzell portraying both Mrs. Holroyd and Queenie.
Opening night has a little extra sparkle this year. On Wednesday, October 14, the Southwest Florida Wine Company will host a special wine tasting. Guests can sip and celebrate as the playhouse raises the curtain on its latest show.
“Bell, Book and Candle” delivers a night out that’s a little magical and plenty of fun, whether you’re on a date, catching up with friends, or just looking for an escape in Englewood. Fall under its spell.
