Oppose Manasota Beach Road Hearing: Behind the Scenes
On Tuesday, July 21, 2026, activists Kelly Bauman and Mary Beth Jones received word that Judge Van Wyk dismissed the case against Sarasota County, the Southwest Florida Water Management District, and Economic Stimulus Working Group, LLC.
While this isn’t the outcome they hoped for, this is a temporary pause, not the end of the road.
The judge ruled “without prejudice,” which means Kelly has 15 days to file amended petitions. She has already asked the court to keep the petition alive to ensure the case moves forward to the scheduled September hearing.
The “Oppose Manasota Beach Rd.” team is currently regrouping, mapping out next strategies, and working harder than ever to ensure our community gets a voice.
