Hot off the Press, Cool for the Veranda: The Latest Englewood Review is Served

The Englewood REVIEW latest edition is chock-full of stories.

The Englewood REVIEW just dropped its latest edition on Friday, July 17, 2026, and it’s chock-full of stories to read as you sip your sweet tea on the veranda and enjoy the summer breeze.

Summer might feel sleepy to some, but at The Fandango Sanctuary, life roars in every corner. Iris and Ernst Pisko have filled their place with more than dogs; try donkeys, pigs, ducks weaving through the legs of turkeys and roosters, and goats always up to something. Every barnyard animal you can think of hangs out here.

Walk into Fandango, and something shifts. This isn’t your run-of-the-mill animal rescue. The whole place pulses with a kind of messy, joyful energy, and there’s love in the air, flavors of chaos too: the honking of geese, the drama of a donkey named “Noisy” who lives right up to the name. Almost a hundred animals call this place home now, each with a story: rescue, survival, hope. If you want the full picture of what Iris, Ernst, and their team put into Fandango, don’t miss this edition.

But animals aren’t the only ones making noise this summer. Englewood teens are working hard, and few are working harder than Aubrey Souza. At fifteen, with high school on her plate, she started The Sorbet Society. She didn’t just land a summer job; she made one, right in her own backyard. Aubrey’s leap from Lemon Bay student to business owner is a can’t-miss success story. You’ll come away convinced: when determination shows up, you notice.

That’s just the start. Our July 17 issue includes stories and voices that showcase everything that makes Englewood vibrant.

If you need an excuse to slow down, now’s your chance. Pour yourself a cool drink and find a patch of shade. Settle in and let us bring you the best of summer in Englewood: the people, the warmth, the community. Here’s to sun, stories, and a summer you won’t forget.
